Avoid the pain and embarassment – make all the raw data available

An excellent account from Cameron Neylon of the frustration (and possibly ruined young careers) when experiments are not repeatable because they haven’t been done properly. While there is no algorithm that guards against this, the deposition of raw data is a powerful mechanism. Whether or not it is made open on day one, if there is a sure knowledge that the data are Open, it focuses the researcher.
