It was announced that Robert Terry will be leaving Wellcome, and I quote from a private letter (I am sure that’s OK).
I will be leaving the Trust on 21st September to take up a position as Project Director to develop the health research strategy for the WHO. Rest assured the Trust will continue with its partners to further all areas of opening up science and the policy contact from this point forward will be Nicola Perrin (c.c. above) and Robert Kiley and Chris Bird remain actively involved in all things open access.
I’d like to emphasize the enormous role that Robert and Wellcome have played in pushing forward Open Access. I am absolutely sure that Wellcome has critical mass and fixity of purpose here, soe this should be seen as splitting a mature plant and spreading the meme.
